Cyber Security and ICT-Pioneer Brings 25+ Years’ Experience
Tolland, Conn./Cologne, Germany, May 21, 2015 – OpenSky Corporation, an independent IT consulting firm focused on Transformational IT Infrastructure, Security and Compliance, announced today the appointment of Olaf Siemens to CEO. Current president and CEO Roger Levasseur will assume the role of Chief Customer Officer, effective immediately.
Siemens (47) is Global Vice President of Information Security since 2012 and Executive Vice President of the global Business Stream ICT & Business Solutions at TÜV Rheinland since January 2015, based in Cologne, Germany. He has more than 25 years of IT experience, predominantly working with international companies. His early positions include nearly a decade at Siemens AG, where he founded and managed the e-business and cyber security departments. In the late 1990s, he founded his own e-business consulting firm that later merged with Gauss Interprise AG to become a leading provider of web content management. That entity was later acquired by NASDAQ-listed OpenText, Inc.
Before coming to TÜV Rheinland, Siemens served as CTO at Utimaco, a leading provider of disk, file, and mail encryption products, where he built the U.S. Research and Development facility and managed that company’s integration after it was acquired by Sophos plc. Siemens had also served on the board of two publicly traded companies.
“I am extremely honored to become even more involved with OpenSky,” Siemens said. “We have a unique opportunity ahead to help large companies migrate their IT into the cloud and assure IT security across their operations. The IT landscape is changing faster than ever, and I am excited to develop our business accordingly in the USA, the worldwide most important and largest market for IT and cyber security.”
Based in Tolland, Connecticut, OpenSky helps large enterprises streamline IT infrastructures, protect information assets and accelerate the adoption of strategic technologies. In 2014, OpenSky was acquired by TÜV Rheinland to better serve the US IT security market.
“When I made my decision to step aside, the OpenSky board and senior leadership knew fairly early on the benefits Olaf would bring,” said current OpenSky president and previous CEO Roger Levasseur. “His industry knowledge and expertise, including knowing the OpenSky business from day one of TÜV Rheinland’s involvement, made the decision to appoint him to this role a real ‘win-win’ for us. I am confident his leadership will strengthen OpenSky’s industry-leading service offerings and strategically position the company for the future.”
The new CEO Olaf Siemens took the opportunity to thank his predecessor Roger Levasseur for his service during the last years and his “outstanding contribution to making OpenSky a leading provider in the IT services and cyber security space.” Siemens: “I am very glad that he will continue to play a very important role in the further development of OpenSky as our Chief Customer Officer. This role will include the management of some strategic accounts, vertical sales and customer advocacy programs. On some of these matters he will work closely with the BDMs who continue to report into the regions.”
